The Quickie Coil is an easy and quick method to coil a rope.

As the name suggests, it’s quick—just wrap the working end of the rope around the coil twice and tuck it under the first wrap. That’s it!

How to Tie a Quickie Coil Knot

To tie the Quickie coil, start by coiling the rope in your hand making consecutive and uniform circles. Wrap the free end of the rope around the section of the coil. Then, make a second wrap to the left of the first one. Finally, tuck the working end below the first turn and tighten the knot.

  1. Coil the rope by making a circle of uniform size.
  2. Wrap the working end around the coil.
  3. Make a second wrap to the left of the first one.
  4. Tuck the working end under the first wrap.
  5. Tighten the knot.
